From humble vineyards with deep roots to old-vine plantings that have endured for decades, these wines honor the past while embracing the future. With our hallmark approach of letting the land speak, this limited anniversary collection offers a rare chance to experience the legacy of a region, a winery, and a winemaker who dared to dream big – Davis Bynum.
Dutton Origin
Chardonnay
Opal Apple | Poached pear | Graham Cracker
Crème Brûlée | Subtle Acidity
One of Sonoma County’s early agricultural pioneers, the Dutton family planted grapes in the 1960s when many didn’t see the winegrowing potential in Russian River Valley. Like Davis, they saw incredible potential and became instrumental in bringing prestige to this region. Our Dutton Origin Chardonnay is made from the original 1967 planting of Old Wente clone at the Home Ranch. Despite bearing little fruit, these vines possess expressive character which is imbued in the wine. Only 6 barrels were made and we are lucky to be the first to have access to this fruit.
Bacigalupi
Pinot Noir
Red Plum | Raspberry Jam | Baking Spice
Spiciness | Ample Acidity
Like Davis Bynum himself, the Bacigalupi family has a deep history in the Russian River Valley, growing grapes along Westside Road as early as the 1950s. Today, with 65 years of viticulture and winemaking experience, the Bacigalupis remain one of the most sought-after sources for premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in all of Sonoma County. Sourced from the Frost Ranch, the soil diversity and warmer temperatures of the site result in a richer, riper and spicier style of Pinot Noir, showing characteristic complexity of the area.
Rochioli
Pinot Noir
Ripe Strawberry | Rhubarb Pie | Cherry
Mushroom | Forest Floor
Long before Russian River was known for world-class Pinot Noir, Davis Bynum and Joe Rochioli recognized its untapped potential. They played an integral role in shaping the legacy of the valley and Pinot Noir’s rise to prominence. Bynum made a bold move in 1973, making the first single-vineyard Russian River Pinot Noir, using Rochioli’s exceptional fruit. Inspired by this groundbreaking release, we proudly honor his vision with our 50th anniversary Pinot Noir from the very same legendary vineyard. Today, Rochioli Vineyard remains one of the most esteemed sites in California.

Davis Bynum
Davis Bynum was a pioneering winemaker whose 1973 release of a single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the famed Rochioli Vineyard marked the first of its kind in the Russian River Valley. At a time when Pinot Noir was virtually unknown in the region, Bynum recognized the potential of its unique terroir and helped elevate the area to world-class status. His legacy lives on through Davis Bynum wines, which continue to honor his vision with award-winning Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that capture the character and richness of the Russian River Valley. Handing his winery to the like-minded Klein family in 2007, Bynum ensured that his passion for excellence and respect for the land would guide the brand for generations to come.
Three Iconic Russian River Valley Sites
Rochioli Vineyard
Inspired by Davis’s groundbreaking 1973 single-vineyard Pinot Noir from the renowned Rochioli Vineyard, we proudly honor his vision and legacy with this 50th Anniversary Pinot Noir from the same legendary site. Lauded by Bynum for his meticulous farming and unwavering commitment to quality, Rochioli planted Pinot Noir at a time when it was still a relative stranger. His dedication and belief in the land’s potential laid the foundation for what would become one of the most revered vineyards in Sonoma County.
Dutton Home Ranch
First purchasing land in 1881, the Dutton family farmed many crops over generations, ultimately taking a chance on grapes in the 1960s when many thought the cool climate wasn’t fit for growing quality grapes. Today, Dutton Estate Winery is led by the sixth generation of Dutton women who are deeply dedicated to continuing the legacy of agriculture, winemaking and land stewardship passed on from their parents.
Bacigalupi Frost Ranch
With a history and vision that parallels Davis Bynum’s, the Bacigalupi family was instrumental in bringing prestige to the Russian River Valley by taking a chance on a varietal and a growing region that few others dared to. Planting their first winegrapes on Westside Road in 1965, the Bacigalupi family became – and remain to this day – one of the most sought-after sources for premium Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Bacigalupis gained international acclaim when their Chardonnay grapes, sold to Chateau Montelena, won the 1976 Paris Tasting – an event that solidified the reputation of American wines.
